1.     Not enough room for more than that.

2.   The volunteers would not be able to cope with any more

3.   Safety issues in case of a fire. 

Fortunately or unfortunately depending how you look at it we have more than 25 people wanting to enrol.  

You may have noticed a number of people sitting in the Art Room on a Thursday morning. That’s not because we are not interested or can’t be bothered but Maggie, Rob and myself have volunteered not to enrol to make more room for you to all enrol and keep to the limited number. Ian no longer attends in the mornings and Biddy had to miss a term  

There have been long discussions on how to fit everyone in who wants to enrol….and in future there will NOT be an enrolment morning on the first day of term.  

ALL ENROLMENTS WILL BE BY POST. You will have to take charge of your own enrolment and see that it is posted in, together with the appropriate fee, and a stamped, self addressed envelope. A receipt will then be issued and posted to you in the envelope YOU provide. This will be your confirmation that you have been successful.  

Applications will be dealt with in the order they arrive, and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. When we reach 25 any more applications will go on a waiting list for a place to become available. If you miss 3 weeks you will forfeit your place to someone on the waiting list. 

Taxi Costs

Due to the taxi company now being registered for VAT and the increase in fuel costs it is now necessary to review the contribution paid by students.  The increase will take effect from the start of the summer term 2008.

journey Students using a taxi for single occupancy will pay a surcharge of £3.50

Students attending ‘mainstream’ day/evening classes will be expected to arrange their own transport.  If in exceptional circumstances Yvonne arranges a taxi for you, you will pay the full cost.

Please note the taxi fees will be reviewed on a termly basis due to the rapid increases in fuel costs

If you are able to make your own travel arrangements this would benefit ACE.

If you are requesting Direct Payments remember to claim the full fee cost (not the ACE subsidised fee) and your full transport cost (ask Yvonne for advice on how much it costs for you to travel)
