Creative Writing Class

This class meets on a Thursday afternoon to read and discuss the works of a wide variety of writers and poets. Class members are encouraged to ‘have a go’ themselves having been stimulated by these authors.
This has led to a collection of inspiring pieces of work of our own.

Using the works of others, Sam Watson will assist you to develop your own style of written expression. You will be encouraged to write individually and as a team. Who knows where these new skills and confidence could lead you?

Volunteers and a care worker are there to assist where necessary.

WHY I LIKE THE WRITE WAY CLASS

I like attending the Write Way Class at ACE on Thursday afternoons because it is a very informative lesson where one can express one’s views on many topics.  We even discuss books, poems, writers and all forms of Literature at times!  Seriously though, I do find that it stimulates one’s mind and thought processes.  Everyone is allowed their opinion and we can all agree to differ.

It is interesting how following a reading of a poem or any piece of written work for that matter, just how many varying interpretations, views  and opinions are expressed, provoking lots of good debate.

The Write Way has opened doors for me.  I have found, through Sam’s teaching and continuous encouragement that I have produced work I never thought I was capable of.  It has often been said that the group produces lots of laughter; this is usually when the conversation is reduced to its lowest common denominator!
