Welcome to the ACE Website

Brixham ace homepage photo,Two members in creative arts lessonWelcome to Brixham ACE, an acronym for Access to Community Education.. We are a friendly group who provide Recreational and Educational Activities for adults with disabilities and respite for carers within Torbay.

We help and support people with disabilities to access courses run both by ACE and the Adult and Community Learning Department, including Swimming, Pottery, Art, Computing, Sports Mobility, Literacy, Gardening and Drama.

We encourage members to attend our Thursday group activities providing opportunities to socialise over coffee, to listen to interesting talks and to have a hot lunch.   We have had talks on the Coastguards, Local History, PoetryandClimate Change and The Environment.

During the year we organised trips to places of interest such as Slimbridge Wild Fowl Trust and Hannah's at Seale Hayne.

We offer ACE members courses at discounted rates and for those who have no transport; ACE operates a subsidised taxi scheme.  You can ask for help with transport if you have no other means of attending.
