Access to Community Education

Welcome to ACE

Welcome to Brixham ACE. We are a friendly group who provide Recreational and Educational Activities for adults with disabilities and respite for carers within Torbay.

We help and support people with disabilities to access courses run both by ACE and the Adult and Community Learning Department, including Swimming, Textiles, Pottery, Art, Computing, Sports Mobility, Literacy, Gardening and Drama.

We encourage members to attend our Thursday group activities providing opportunities to socialise over coffee, to listen to interesting talks and to have a hot lunch.   We have had talks on the Coastguards, Local History, Poetry and Climate Change and The Environment.

During the summer term we organise trips to places of interest such as The Eden Project, Occombe Farm and Newquay Zoo (see pictures).

We offer ACE members courses at discounted rates and for those who have no transport; ACE operates a subsidised taxi scheme.  You can ask for help with transport if you have no other means of attending.

Sadly, Brian Motley, a long-standing member of the Ace passed away in the last few days, Read more.....
